Play

Table Tennis is a fun way to stay physically fit and mentally active.

Social

Social Table Tennis is played at various standards to cater for your enjoyment. Although you are welcome to attend any sessions, you are required to play within the rules of that particular session.

Tuesday and Friday morning sessions are set aside for beginners and those who wish to enjoy a social day at the basic level.

The Academy has adopted a Social Code for Social Table Tennis that emphasises fun and helping one another.

If you think you might like to play, visit our Clubrooms or telephone during the listed session times. If you come in, wear casual clothes and sports shoes with non-slip soles. If you don’t have a bat, we can lend you one initially.

Coaching

Coaching sessions are run by the Academy Coach, Bill Oatey O.A.M., on Wednesday and Friday afternoons and on Saturday mornings.

If you wish to attend please contact Bill at the Clubrooms on 8332 3676 during one of the coaching sessions. See Session times for opening hours.

Competition

The Academy fields a number of teams in the Winter Pennant Competition conducted by Table Tennis S.A. Incorporated and also runs a very popular, club-based competition on Thursday evenings in Spring and early Summer.

The Winter Table Tennis pennant matches are played on a home and away basis on Monday and Tuesday nights with home matches being at the Clubrooms.

Over the years, the Payneham Table Tennis Club has produced and nurtured many of the top Australian and state-ranked table tennis players including Bill Oatey O.A.M., Neil Ward, Kaye Crowell (nee Chigwidden).

Currently, we have Jon Schubert, Matt Konetschka, Stephy Ngu, Nabeel Mohammad, Belinda Cher and Ryan Cher representing the State.

Competition players’ practice night is Thursdays from 7pm to 11pm.

The Payneham Table Tennis Academy Inc. is open for social table tennis everyday. Check the Sessions page for a session that suits your standard and schedule.
